The Witch's Otherworldly Shop Management

Chapter 53

"Phew——" After washing up, Rao Ke felt drowsy, so she lay down under the blanket, closed her eyes, and dozed off.

"Ding-a-ling, ding-a-ling——"

Suddenly, the tablet rang with a call. Rao Ke opened her eyes and answered.

"Hello, who is this?"

A soft chuckle came from the other end. "You don't even recognize my voice anymore?"

The familiar voice roused Rao Ke slightly. "Moduoya, it's you. What's the matter?"

"I wanted to ask you something." Moduoya's tone turned serious. "KeKe, have you heard the news that Dragon Island is about to reopen to the world?"

"Dragon Island is reopening?" Rao Ke felt herself waking up a bit. "I haven't heard that, but I'm on Dragon Island right now."

"I think there's a good chance that news is true. After all, didn't Emperor Pebibai's prophecy say that we need all races to unite against the natural disasters?" Rao Ke offered her opinion.

Moduoya was silent for a moment. "That's true. If the disasters continue to worsen, we might have to hold a council with all the races."

"Mm, I'll let you know if I hear anything. I'm pretty sleepy now, so I'll head to bed." Rao Ke yawned.

With that, Moduoya bid her farewell.

After hanging up, Rao Ke felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her and immediately fell asleep.

She slept all the way until ten at night. By the time she woke up, the sky had already turned dark.

Chrisley was reading a book, fully absorbed. Sensing that Rao Ke had woken up, she glanced over. "You're awake?"

"Mm." Rao Ke felt completely rested this time.

"We've already eaten dinner. See what you'd like to eat."

"I'll just make some instant noodles." Rao Ke got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to rinse her mouth.

"Rustle—"

Scalding hot water poured into the paper cup. Rao Ke pressed the lid down with something and then asked Afra, who was reading a novel beside Chrisley. "Is the Flame Dragon Queen planning to open Dragon Island to the world?"

"How did you know?" Afra looked up and immediately confessed.

Rao Ke shook her head. "Everyone on the Kaqisha Continent is talking about it. They say the disasters are about to get so bad they'll be uncontrollable, so Dragon Island is reopening to unite all races against the calamity."

Afra nodded. "Something like that. A long time ago, nobody took Emperor Pebibai's words seriously, but it turns out he was right."

Rao Ke remained silent.

Afra continued, "The Queen will probably announce it to everyone soon."

"By the way, do you all want to reopen?" Rao Ke asked curiously.

Afra nodded. "Of course. We've been cooped up on this little island for centuries, bored out of our minds. Everyone would be thrilled to go out into the world."

"Oh, and now that you've opened Keke Shop on the Kaqisha Continent, we'd definitely want to get out even more." Afra smiled at Rao Ke.

Hearing this, Rao Ke raised an eyebrow. "Then I'm truly honored~"

"Haha, I really love the goods in your shop." Afra's tone was sincere. "And I really like you too!"

Rao Ke burst out laughing. "Thank you for your affection. I like you too."

Chrisley was absorbed in her novel, too lazy to bother with the two silly girls beside her.

Besides the three of them, the dragons on the island were also curious about this news. A discussion post on Dragon Island's Astrolabe circle was especially popular.

[Chat | Is Dragon Island really going to reopen?]

[1F: Why are we talking about this again? This is basically a daily post on the Dragon Island Astrolabe circle. It comes around every year. Isn't it boring?]

[2F: Exactly. I went from being excited at first to not even bothering to look at this kind of news now...]

...

[3F: I want to go out! I know exactly how many trees are on this island.]

[4F: So, how many trees are there?]

...

[45F: It's real, right? I think I've heard something...]

[46F: So boring...]

...

[123F: Everyone, go check the Queen's Astrolabe circle now!! Dragon Island is really going to reopen!!]

Comment 123 caused a stir among everyone. They quickly rushed to the Flame Dragon Queen's Astrolabe circle.

The Flame Dragon Queen had simply posted a short message, stating that Dragon Island would establish diplomatic relations with KeKe Shop. Once that was complete, the island would open up, allowing the dragons to leave freely.

The post wasn't long, and Afra finished reading it quickly. Then she opened the comment section, which was filled with cheers from the dragons.

Afra hadn't expected that just two hours ago, she had been discussing this exact topic with Rao Ke, and now Yanshajia had made the announcement.

Afra shared the news with Rao Ke, who immediately passed it on to Moduoya.

And because of that news, Rao Ke ended up chatting with Moduoya all night. The next day, she greeted Chrisley and Afra with a yawn and dark circles under her eyes.

Chrisley understood, though her expression gave nothing away. "Let's eat. We'll be heading to the market soon."

Rao Ke was tired and sleepy, but she had made her own bed, so she could only resign herself to it.

After brunch, Rao Ke rode Afra to the market.

The market was even more crowded than yesterday, because the dragons who had bought goods the day before had spread the word, and now almost every dragon on the island had shown up.

Looking at the dense crowd, Afra couldn't help but remark, "Even our parties don't get this many dragons."

Rao Ke took out the goods and mystery boxes from her space and set them up on the stall.

Facing the dragons with gleaming red eyes, Rao Ke calmly announced, "Line up. Today's sale officially begins."

The dragons obediently formed a line, occasionally craning their necks to see how many people were ahead of them.

Every single dragon was extremely impatient.

All three of them were busy, their feet barely touching the ground.

"Wow! Such a shiny dress!" Suddenly, an exclamation came from the side.

Everyone instinctively turned to look, and there they saw an ice crystal dragon holding a black lace dress adorned with many tiny diamonds.

The dress was fluffy, soft, and well-tailored. The tiny diamonds glittered on the black lace fabric like stars in the sky.

As the dragons on-site opened many glittering treasures, those still queuing grew both anxious and excited—anxious because they hadn't gotten their boxes yet, and excited because they didn't know what wonderful prize they might pull.

"Alright, alright, these are the last two mystery boxes!" Rao Ke handed the final two boxes on the table to the emerald dragon gentleman in front of her.

Like a victor returning from battle, the emerald dragon proudly showed off his boxes to the dragons around him.

After showing off, he tucked the boxes into his chest, ran out of the market, transformed into his dragon form, and soared away.

The remaining dragons quickly crowded around Rao Ke. "Shopkeeper, is it really all gone?"

"Unfortunately, yes, really all gone." Seeing the dragons' disappointed expressions, Rao Ke continued to reassure them, "It's okay. Once the teleportation array between Dragon Island and KeKe Shop is officially established, you can come to the shop to buy things. There are many more amazing products waiting for you there."

Rao Ke's words sparked a strong longing for KeKe Shop among the dragons.

"Great! Once it's set up, we'll definitely go!"

"Mm, I'll be waiting for you all at KeKe Shop." Rao Ke smiled.

After wrapping up the final day of business, Rao Ke dragged her heavy steps onto Afra's back and returned to the nest.

Chrisley helped Rao Ke along, looking a little exasperated. "I told you not to stay up late, but you insisted. Now you can't even walk without my help."

Rao Ke closed her eyes at Chrisley's lecture and pretended to be oblivious.

Chrisley couldn't do anything about her. She shook her head and helped Rao Ke into the bathroom. "Wash up and go to sleep quickly. I'll call you up for dinner."

"Okay~" Rao Ke took a super-fast shower, changed into her pajamas, and threw herself into the soft bed.

The moment she lay down, Rao Ke felt her eyelids growing heavier and heavier, until she finally drifted off.

When Chrisley came up to check on her, she saw that the poor girl had fallen asleep without pulling the covers over herself. She sighed helplessly and tucked Rao Ke in.

Rao Ke slept straight through until seven in the evening, when Chrisley came up to wake her.

Coming downstairs and seeing the lavish spread on the wooden table, Rao Ke looked at Chrisley and Afra. "Did you two make all this?"

"Of course. Go wash your hands, and then you can eat." Chrisley lightly tapped Rao Ke's head.

Rao Ke immediately complied and headed to the bathroom to wash up.

After washing her hands and looking at the sumptuous feast before her, she didn't know what to try first.

"By the way, news about Dragon Island reopening has already spread across the Kaqisha Continent. All the races are trying to make contact with the dragons first, so if anyone comes asking you to intervene, just don't pay them any attention." Chrisley brought it up during the meal.

Rao Ke nodded. Listening to her teacher was always the right call.

"Indeed, Teacher has been incredibly busy lately. She has to deal with piles of documents and so many people." Remembering the tall stack of files she'd seen at Yanshajia's place, Afra felt her scalp tingle.

Chrisley looked at her sympathetically. "Hang in there. You'll have to do the same eventually."

Afra silently ate her rice, deeply feeling how hard Yanshajia's life was.

The meal left Rao Ke fully satisfied.

"Oh, right, KeKe, when are you leaving? Before you go, Teacher wants to treat you to a meal." Afra suddenly remembered the task her teacher had given her.

Rao Ke thought for a moment. "We'll probably leave the day after tomorrow. There's a lot to take care of back at the shop."

Afra nodded. "I'll go talk to Teacher about it later."

"Thank you for going to all this trouble to host us." Rao Ke smiled.

"No trouble! I'm off then!" Afra got up, eager to go report back to Yanshajia.

Sitting on the sofa, full and content, Rao Ke felt like she had forgotten something. Then, suddenly, she remembered.

Hadn't she completed her adventure quest? It was the first time she'd seen the reward listed as "unknown," and she'd been curious about it then. Now she could finally find out what it was.

[Congratulations on completing the Adventure Quest!]
