The Witch's Otherworldly Shop Management

Chapter 17

When Rao Ke woke up in the morning, Chrisley had already washed up and was studying an introductory magic book of the Witch Clan off to the side.

"Awake?" Chrisley noticed Rao Ke the moment she opened her eyes.

Chrisley wore a kind smile. "I've prepared breakfast for you. Go wash up."

"Teacher, you're up so early?" Rao Ke glanced at the time—it was only 7:30 in the morning.

Chrisley smiled faintly. "Occasionally. Enough talk, go wash up first."

Wenni, who was preening her feathers nearby, quietly rolled her eyes. She wondered who had stayed up all night chasing after a story and only woke up in the afternoon, going to bed at midnight.

Chrisley mentally gave herself a thumbs up—she had been too excited about taking on an apprentice to sleep all night, and that was something absolutely no one could know! ! !

Wenni didn't count; she was just a bird.

Rao Ke quickly got up to wash and change, then took out her tablet to check the weather forecast, which showed that acidic rain would continue all day today.

"I wonder how business will be today..." Rao Ke munched on a sandwich as she pondered. Today also happened to be the day two major new activities were being launched.

"There's hardly anyone around." Chrisley had taken a walk in the morning and noticed that because of the acidic rain, there were basically no people around.

"The shop usually opens at eight and closes at ten at night." There were still a few minutes before opening time. Looking at the trickling but highly corrosive acidic rain, Rao Ke felt a little worried.

Sure enough, when the shop opened, only a few scattered customers came in.

Among them was the Flame Team. Rao Ke wandered around the shop since she had nothing to do.

Since the last upgrade, Rao Ke had bought a few more robots, so the shop could basically run autonomously now.

Rao Ke hung around the checkout counter on the first floor, spending her days watching dramas and being incredibly relaxed.

As soon as the Flame Team entered the shop, they noticed the two huge posters and the weapon counter at the center of the first floor.

After standing and looking for a while, the Flame Team got excited all of a sudden.

"Shopkeeper, we want to learn about the new weapons in the shop." Rao Ke happened to be nearby with nothing to do, so Hongci locked onto her.

The other customers who had been observing also quickly gathered around when they saw Rao Ke coming to introduce the products.

Rao Ke walked over with a smile and introduced each item to the customers one by one.

To make the effects of the products more vivid, Rao Ke held a protective umbrella against acid rain and took a blasting bullet outside.

The customers watched as the umbrella easily blocked the dangerous acidic rain; the rain slid off the canopy and fell to the ground nearby, making a sizzling sound.

Rao Ke stood under the umbrella in the acidic rain for a while, then took out the blasting bullet. Spotting a withered tree nearby, she casually tossed it, and the tree burst apart instantly.

After the demonstration, Rao Ke walked back.

"The enchanted iron sword can increase attack power by five percent. If you're interested, you can take it outside and try it." Rao Ke casually picked up an enchanted iron sword.

Hongci took it with great interest and volunteered to test it outside.

"Bang!"

The large boulder in front was sliced through effortlessly like cutting tofu. Hongci looked at the iron sword in his hand with satisfaction.

The customers inside the protective barrier who had watched Hongci's demonstration rushed toward Rao Ke, waving their money pouches, eager to buy these weapons.

"The magic tools are sold on the third floor at the Magic Tool Shop. Currently, each person can buy up to three of each item." Rao Ke introduced. "By the way, our shop is launching a shopping card system. For details, please check the promotional posters."

Rao Ke looked at the customers whose purchasing desire had been sparked and seamlessly steered them toward the shopping cards.

Then the customers got interested in the shopping cards, and everyone dashed to the third floor Magic Tool Shop first, then went to the card machine to get their cards.

Since there weren't many customers, it didn't take too long for everyone.

"How can beastmen be here?!"

The peaceful atmosphere was suddenly shattered when the second wave of customers arrived, because that wave was a group of beastmen.

"This isn't your human territory. Why can't we come?"

"Want to fight?"

...

The two sides argued endlessly, and the tension was about to ignite.

"Ahem! Customers who fight in the shop will be added to the blacklist and permanently banned from KeKe Shop." Rao Ke appeared with a smile and warned them.

The customers who had been hot-headed immediately calmed down at Rao Ke's words.

"KeKe Shop welcomes guests of all races. I hope everyone can get along harmoniously in the shop." Rao Ke continued.

Because of Rao Ke's words, the human and beastmen customers, though they found each other extremely unpleasant, didn't dare do anything.

Seeing the magic tools and shopping card activities at KeKe Shop, the beastmen lost interest in dealing with those annoying humans and hurried off to buy magic tools and get shopping cards.

At this moment, at the entrance of No. 7 Wandering Town, Mo Duoya and the others were waiting for something.

Not far away, a team dressed in knight's armor slowly approached.

Mo Duoya had been waiting here all morning to welcome her knight order.

But Mo Duoya squinted, looking at the merchant caravan behind the knight order, lost in thought.

"Your Highness, I've returned."

Leading the group was none other than the knight captain of the Knight Order, Ai Huike.

Ai Huike was dressed in solemn knight's attire, with blue hair and blue eyes. His face was handsome and composed, with a determined but authoritative expression.

Ai Huike dismounted and gave Mo Duoya a knight's salute.

"Welcome back, Ai Huike." Mo Duoya smiled. "And this behind you is?"

"On my way back to the town, I encountered this merchant caravan. They were ambushed by goblins and plan to rest and reorganize in our town." Ai Huike explained.

"Come on, let's head inside first." It was still raining acidic rain, so the town entrance wasn't a good place to chat.

"Yes."

The protective barrier outside No. 7 Wandering Town was maintained by Selen.

Once inside the town, the leader of the merchant caravan, Duolun, took the initiative to strike up a conversation with Mo Duoya.

"I've heard so much about you. I am the owner of this caravan, Duolun. Thank you very much for the town leader's hospitality." Duolun wore a warm smile.

Mo Duoya gave a faint smile, but her eyes were extremely cold.

Duolun tried hard to engage Mo Duoya in more conversation, but she only responded with an occasional word or two to brush him off.

In the end, Duolun could only take his leave with a very forced smile.

As soon as Duolun left, Mo Duoya immediately cast a purification spell in the air.

"Heya, throw away the chair and cup that person touched." Mo Duoya's tone carried a hint of disgust.

"Yes!"

That businessman was a fairly well-known slave owner, responsible for the gray industries and slave trade under one of the four major caravans, the Kaya Caravan.

This time, he said he was ambushed by goblins and lost all his goods.

Mo Duoya didn't believe his nonsense at all. There must be something else behind it.

"Investigate what cargo they lost this time." Mo Duoya ordered Ailier beside her.

"Alright."

Back in his room, Duolun, who had been maintaining a strained smile, suddenly changed his expression, his face twisting viciously.

"A worthless exile playing the princess in front of me. She really thinks she's still a princess. Arrogant idiot!"

Not satisfied with just cursing, Duolun smashed many things before catching his breath and sitting down.

A servant nearby, only after Duolun had vented his anger, reluctantly stepped forward, "Lord Duolun, there's a letter from above."

Duolun snatched the letter, tore it open, and read it. His already grim face turned pale with fright.

"Go, contact the other slave owners, buy up all the goblins on hand, and put out a bounty. We must catch the goblins that escaped—not a single one of the 200 goblins can be missing!!"

"Yes." The servant lowered his head and quietly withdrew.

Ai Huike reported in detail the intelligence he had gathered while away. This trip was related to a special event in the imperial capital.

His empty-headed, ill-tempered imperial brother had, for whatever reason, decided to hold a Royal Joy Festival and required all lords to present gifts.

"Alright, I understand. Have you heard that we have a very magical shop here?" Mo Duoya raised an eyebrow.

Having just returned to No. 7 Wandering Town, Ai Huike naturally had no idea what had been happening there recently.

"Forget it, it's impossible to explain how magical it is with words. I'll have to take you there to see for yourself!" Mo Duoya stood up.

"Beep beep beep!"

Mo Duoya opened her message and found it was from Laiensi.

"Laiensi says KeKe Shop has new magic tools and a new event." Mo Duoya's eyes lit up. "No wonder he didn't come to welcome you back. He used to ask about you all the time, but today you're back and he didn't even show up."

Ai Huike smiled, having long been accustomed to Laiensi's free-spirited personality.

Meanwhile, Duolun's servant hurried back to his room and informed him about KeKe Shop.

"Magical shop? Hmph, putting on airs! A shop opened in such a backwater is probably just some shabby little store. Only these commoners would be impressed." Duolun sneered.

"Well, since I've got nothing better to do, go gather some people. Let me go see this 'magical shop' of the wilderness~" Duolun rose and headed to KeKe Shop.

His servant followed immediately.

But what the servant hadn't gathered was that the owner of this shop was a witch with formidable magical power and a mysterious background.

Thus, the arrogant and utterly ignorant Duolun, leading his large entourage, rushed ahead of Mo Duoya and the others, heading to KeKe Shop in grand style.

Meanwhile, Rao Ke was watching Chrisley decorate her room.

With a wave of her staff, various items floated in the air, arranged just like the little wooden house at the center of the Adventure Forest.

Chrisley used a space stone to expand the room and even moved the big tree next to the wooden house over, planting it in the center of the room.

Contrary to the doom-and-gloom atmosphere one might imagine, Chrisley's room was dim but looked quite comfortable and cozy, and it was lush with greenery, somewhat similar to Xue Jiali's room.
