Chapter 45
“Buzz, buzz~”
The phone on the edge of the desk wouldn’t stop vibrating.
“Mm… the phone…”
Su Ci was pinned against the desk, her back almost flush with the tabletop, her knees held down. In that position, she was no different from a fish on a chopping board.
Yan Can’s phone kept vibrating.
“You…”
The rest of the words were swallowed back.
A soft tongue slipped inside. The tip brushed lightly but insistently against the wet warmth, and when it sensed the other person coiling around it, it deliberately pulled back with a wicked kind of satisfaction.
Yan Can slowly rubbed her thumb over Su Ci’s swollen lips, then looked into her eyes and asked, “Do you like doing this with me?”
Su Ci turned her face away. Her gaze fell on Yan Can’s phone at the edge of the desk; it had stopped vibrating, but another message seemed to have come in, the screen flashing once.
“Someone’s looking for you.”
“Don’t care.”
Yan Can rubbed her cheek against the side of Su Ci’s slender neck. Su Ci’s skin was delicate and soft, smooth as silk; pressed against it like this, it felt wonderful, and she didn’t want to get up.
Being pressed down on the desk and kissed for so long made Su Ci’s waist and back ache a little. She pushed at Yan Can’s shoulder and said, “It hurts. Get up first.”
The moment she finished speaking, the phone vibrated again. Whoever was calling must have something urgent; if no one answered, they looked like they’d keep calling.
Su Ci said, “Answer it.”
Yan Can glanced at it. It was Zhang Ru. What important business could she possibly have? Yan Can didn’t want to answer, and she didn’t feel like answering either; right now, she just wanted to kiss Su Ci.
But Su Ci said in a firm voice, “Yan Can, answer the phone.”
Honestly. Doing this every day—was that really okay?
“No.” Like a puppy, Yan Can licked and nipped at her neck. Su Ci pushed her head away, a little speechless. “Answer it first.”
“I don’t want to.” Yan Can pouted and leaned by her ear to complain, “Answer the phone, answer the phone. Teacher Su, you’re way too distracted.”
The phone was still vibrating on the edge of the desk, close to sliding off.
Yan Can saw it but didn’t care. When she noticed Su Ci glancing at the phone from time to time, she frowned and bit down in annoyance on Su Ci’s neck. Of course she couldn’t bear to bite hard; after her teeth sank into the soft skin, she only pressed her lips there, holding it in her mouth like it was something amusing.
Her hand below wasn’t behaving either. Su Ci’s brows drew together with unbearable discomfort, and her voice was so hoarse it hardly sounded like her own. “Get up… answer the phone.”
“Does the time I spend answering count?” Su Ci was too strict. They’d already done homework for so long, and she only got three minutes of rest. “Does it count?”
“If it doesn’t count, then I’m losing out big time.”
While she spoke, her hand still had to steal a little advantage.
Su Ci said nothing, only stared at her with those misty, glistening eyes.
This person was getting more and more excessive. How could she be thinking about filthy things all the time? She clearly hadn’t been like this before.
“Don’t look at me like that.” Yan Can kissed the corner of her lips and said, “The way you’re looking at me makes me want you even more.”
“You!” Su Ci widened her eyes and pulled her collar closed, trying to push her away, but Yan Can caught her wrist and said in a coaxing tone, “Teacher Su, rest a little longer. Five minutes, just five minutes. I’ll do five more sets of Olympiad math problems afterward, okay?”
Su Ci…
Yan Can was still coaxing her, speaking in a soft, deliberately cute voice. “Okay? Please, Teacher Su~”
The phone was still buzzing on the edge of the desk like a death knell. Yan Can frowned and glanced at the screen again; it was still Zhang Ru. Su Ci’s expression had softened a little by now, and she said, “Answer it first.”
Yan Can knew that meant she’d agreed.
She kissed Su Ci on the forehead and reached out to answer it; the phone stopped ringing again.
She looked at Su Ci and smiled, her eyes curving. “It hung up by itself.”
Her gaze dropped lower, landing on the gentle rise and fall beneath her. “Five minutes.”
Outside, snow was drifting through the air; the garden was covered in thick snow, fresh snow piled over old snow.
…
The phone on the edge of the desk rang again at the worst possible time.
Su Ci panted and reminded her, “The phone…”
Yan Can had no mind left for the phone. Her teeth lightly sank into skin that was pale and soft.
A pair of long, sweat-damp hands braced on the tabletop, fingertips pressing so hard they had gone white.
“Mm… I can’t…”
Yan Can pulled back, kissed Su Ci’s reddened eyes, and muttered, “Already can’t take it? Su Ci, your stamina is getting…”
The phone was still vibrating, buzzing as it slowly edged toward the side of the desk; just before it fell, a hand damp with a thin sheen of sweat caught it.
“Zhang Ru, you better have some earth-shattering reason for calling me!”
Zhang Ru on the other end jumped in fright. She hadn’t even had the chance to complain about Yan Can ignoring her calls for so long. “Why are you being so fierce?”
Yan Can shot a glance at the person beside her, who had already dressed properly. Su Ci’s expression was clear now, but her cheeks still held an alluring flush; her fair neck and earlobes were covered in marks, left there by Yan Can last night.
Feeling that gaze, Su Ci’s cheeks started heating up again. She turned her head away, lowered her eyes to the messy floor, and crouched down to pick up the books one by one.
When she bent down, a section of her slender, pale waist was exposed; there was a neat row of teeth marks there.
Also left by her.
Yan Can narrowed her eyes. The fire from being interrupted while doing bad things finally cooled down a little.
“Hello? Yan Can, why did you suddenly stop talking?” Zhang Ru thought the signal was bad and called out “Hello” a few more times. Yan Can shifted her gaze from Su Ci back to the windowpane blurred with a thin layer of moisture. “I’m here. What is it?”
Zhang Ru didn’t answer immediately; she thought it was strange. “Are you busy?”
Yan Can thought, Oh, now you know? She walked over to the sofa and lay down lazily. “I’m not busy now. What exactly do you need?”
“Yu Ting’s birthday is the day after tomorrow,” Zhang Ru said.
“I know. I didn’t forget.” Yan Can’s eyes drifted back to Su Ci again. She was sitting upright and writing on a test paper; her back looked very pleasing to the eye. “Is that all you called to say?”
Zhang Ru looked down at the manicure the nail tech was doing for her. “She’s going abroad. Did you know that?”
Yan Can sat up straight. “Huh? When?”
After finishing her nails, the manicurist stood to the side. Zhang Ru waved a hand to indicate she could go get paid by the butler.
Satisfied with her glossy, rounded nails, Zhang Ru said, “I knew you hadn’t looked at the group chat. Go check the group messages and you’ll know.”
The two of them stayed on the call while Yan Can opened the group chat. There were 99+ messages. Both Yu Ting and Zhang Ru had @-ed her. She looked first at the messages tagging her; they weren’t important, just asking why she hadn’t shown up, what she was busy with, and complaining that she was always lurking in the chat. Yan Can pressed her thumb to the screen and scrolled upward one message at a time.
She finished reading quickly.
In short, Yu Ting’s bastard of a father had an illegitimate son outside the family; that son had been playing too wildly and gotten involved with a military officer’s mistress. The officer found out and gave him a small lesson; he was probably going to end up in jail. That officer had quite a background, and her bastard father couldn’t protect him, so all he could do was let him suffer a bit first. The illegitimate son already had a bad reputation, and now he’d become a joke in their circle, a hopeless loser. Yu Ting’s mother wanted to take this chance to push Yu Ting into power.
“Her mom said she used some connections. That illegitimate brother of hers is probably going to be in jail for three or five years and won’t be getting out anytime soon. Now’s exactly the right time for Yu Ting to seize control,” Zhang Ru said over the phone. “Her mom wants to send her abroad to study business. During winter and summer break, she’ll go straight into the family business for training. You know, the Yu family has several subsidiaries overseas too…”
Yan Can listened for a while and finally understood, but what did that have to do with her birthday?
“You said all that just to tell me what?”
“I called and asked her. She said after her birthday, she won’t be coming to school anymore!” Zhang Ru’s voice rose unconsciously. “She’s flying abroad directly! We won’t be seeing her for a long time!”
By the end, Zhang Ru was almost tearing up. Most of the rich kids they knew studied abroad sooner or later, but Yu Ting’s departure was too sudden.
She hadn’t prepared herself at all.
“Her birthday is the day after tomorrow. Don’t go to that special training class of yours; come over early. Let’s get together.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Yan Can walked over and hugged Su Ci from behind. “Su Ci?”
Su Ci’s hand on the pen paused. She asked very softly, “What is it?”
“Can the time you set with him be changed?”
Last time Yan Can had told her to arrange a time with that guy so the two of them could sit down and talk properly, and Su Ci had done it. The time they’d set happened to be Yu Ting’s birthday. “Yu Ting’s birthday happens to be that day, and after her birthday she’s going abroad. Will you come with me to celebrate her birthday?”
Su Ci didn’t hesitate at all. “Okay.”
…
In the blink of an eye, it was the end of the month, and on the day of Yu Ting’s birthday, the biggest snow of the year fell.
The venue Yu Ting chose for the house party was her suburban villa.
“Yu Ting, happy birthday!”
Yan Can handed over two gifts. The butler beside her took them. Yu Ting smiled and said, “Zhang Ru is over there playing cards with the others. Knowing you don’t like cards, do you want to go play golf? A few friends are there. They’re all people you know.”
Yan Can shook her head. “I’m lazy. I don’t want to move.”
“All right.” Yu Ting smiled and looked at Su Ci beside her. These two really had a good relationship; they were still holding hands at this point. “Yan Can knows this place well. Let her take you around. I still need to go to the entrance and pick up a friend who’s flying back from abroad.”
The two of them nodded and walked along the glass corridor toward the main hall.
Someone spotted Yan Can and said with a smile, “Miss Yan is here!”
Then, seeing the cold-faced but breathtakingly beautiful Su Ci beside her, the person smiled again. “I’ve never seen this beauty before. Yan Can, who is this?”
Yan Can was still holding Su Ci’s hand. She smiled and said, “My friend.”
Yu Ting had a lot of friends. A few of the ones Yan Can didn’t know looked at the two of them and talked in low voices.
“They came in holding hands.”
“Are they a couple? They’re both so good-looking. How come I’ve never heard Yu Ting mention her?”
“Don’t say two girls holding hands means they’re lesbians just because you see it, okay?”
All of that was heard by Zhang Ru sitting behind them.
Maybe because she’d never thought about it that way before, but now that they were saying it, she looked up again and carefully studied the two of them.
They were both wearing wool coats of the same style in different colors, and both had turtlenecks underneath. They were both tall, and their looks were equally stunning.
Whenever they occasionally met each other’s eyes, the tenderness in them seemed about to spill over.
It really was a little shippable.
If she hadn’t known Yan Can had a marriage partner, she might have believed the two girls and thought those two were really a couple.
“Yan Can?”
Yan Can and Su Ci had just sat down on the sofa when a voice fell from above them. Yan Can looked up; it was a young man. He seemed a few years older than them, with refined features and wearing a fitted black turtleneck sweater. Vaguely visible beneath the sweater were lean, defined muscles.
In short, he was a man with both looks and a body.
“You are?”
Someone shouted from over there, “Second Young Master Zhou, what’s going on? You see your fiancée and can’t walk anymore?”
Yan Can: ?!”
