The Innocent Beta is Caught in a Love Triangle

I Didn't Seduce Your Wife

Lin Meng looked dazedly toward the voice. Yun Huaizhu, who had just reached out to wipe her tears, trembled violently and quickly stepped back.

Lin Meng couldn't quite make out the person's face, but she could tell the woman striding toward her must be very beautiful. Even from her silhouette alone, she could tell she had striking, commanding features.

Su Yutang had given Yun Huaizhu half an hour to handle her business. She'd already waited over twenty minutes, and Yun Huaizhu still hadn't returned.

The dog she kept didn't seem to take her words seriously at all. As it happened, her people had informed her that Yun Huaizhu appeared to be in the corridor near the hotel's central private room, so she headed down from the top floor immediately.

She hadn't expected to walk over and be greeted by a scene that made it very clear she was being cheated on.

Seeing Su Yutang's expression, Yun Huaizhu knew she was in for it tonight. She pressed her lips together and clutched nervously at the hem of her clothes. “I... I didn't...”

But before she could finish, Su Yutang pushed her aside and turned to look at the still-dazed Lin Meng. She sized up the woman from head to toe the same way she'd sized up Yun Huaizhu earlier.

When she sensed no trace of pheromones on the woman, she couldn't help but sneer. “Yun Huaizhu, I have to say, your taste is truly pathetic. You could've seduced anyone, but you had to pick a plain, unremarkable beta. What could you possibly hope to get out of her?”

When Yun Huaizhu heard Su Yutang's assessment of Lin Meng, she raised her head, teeth clenched. “Su Yutang, don't go too far. She's just my fan. Other than that, she has nothing to do with me!”

Yun Huaizhu rarely showed such strong emotion in front of Su Yutang, so to Su Yutang, this was clearly Yun Huaizhu lashing out in embarrassment after being caught in something sordid.

Su Yutang stared at Yun Huaizhu with a dark, menacing look. “Just your fan? Since when do you spend time alone with fans? Do you hold hands and act all intimate with every fan you meet? I wasn't aware.”

Dazed as she was, Lin Meng could now tell from their exchange who this sharp-tongued woman was.

She, she—she was the novel's main character gong, Su Yutang!

In Su Yutang's eyes, Yun Huaizhu was nothing more than a dog she toyed with at will. But what she hadn't expected was that today, this dog would actually talk back.

Su Yutang had always known Yun Huaizhu was proud. When the two of them were alone, Yun Huaizhu would always wear a humiliated expression. To avoid pushing her too hard, Su Yutang had always preserved her dignity and never mistreated her in front of others.

But it was precisely this leniency that made Yun Huaizhu believe she could do as she pleased.

A dog that barked at its owner might one day bite back, so Su Yutang decided there was no need to spare Yun Huaizhu's dignity any longer.

With a sinister look, Su Yutang stepped forward to grab Yun Huaizhu by the hair and drag her away. But Lin Meng, finally understanding what was happening, darted in front of Yun Huaizhu like a mother hen protecting her chick, putting herself between them.

Su Yutang's freshly ignited anger, blocked by this person who'd suddenly jumped out, burned even hotter.

Her expression turned incredibly ugly. “You're protecting Yun Huaizhu just like that? What promise did she make you? Didn't Yun Huaizhu tell you she already sold herself to me as a dog? As her owner, it's only right that I discipline her. Get out of my way!”

After saying that, Su Yutang turned a warning on Yun Huaizhu. “Yun Huaizhu, I'll let this seduction business slide for now. I'm going to count to three. If you're not over here by then, I can't guarantee what will happen to the person you seduced.”

Although Lin Meng felt dizzy, the corridor spinning before her eyes, she knew she couldn't collapse now. She began to babble incoherently. “No... no, Miss Su, you've misunderstood. I didn't seduce Miss Yun. No, I mean, I didn't seduce your wife...”

She realized mid-sentence that something was off. “I mean, your wife didn't seduce me. There's nothing between us—it's completely innocent. You have to believe me. I want the two of you to make up more than anyone!”

Su Yutang frowned at her scrambled words. The woman didn't seem very bright, but she had touched on something Su Yutang cared about. Su Yutang stepped forward and looked down at Lin Meng. “No, you said it wrong. Who did you say my wife is?”

Without hesitation, Lin Meng pointed at Yun Huaizhu. “Her, her...”

That was how it was written in the novel.

When Yun Huaizhu heard this, her expression turned utterly grim. She couldn't even bring herself to entertain Lin Meng's words; the mere thought of being associated with Su Yutang made her sick to her stomach.

Su Yutang wasn't angry at all now. She even felt like she'd just heard a perfect comedy routine.

She tilted her head slightly to glance at Yun Huaizhu behind Lin Meng. “Do you think you're worthy?”

Yun Huaizhu pulled herself together and lowered her head, pretending to be meek. “I wouldn't dare. How could someone like me ever be worthy?”

Su Yutang smiled in satisfaction. Hearing this, Lin Meng's face showed both anger and sorrow. “No! How... how can you say that? You and that foul mouth of yours!”

As if lost in the state she'd been in while reading the novel, she jabbed a finger at Su Yutang. “You... you scumbag gong, how can you talk to your wife like that? Do you still want a wife? Damn it... can't you fix that temper of yours? With a nasty, impossible temper like yours, who else could put up with you besides your wife!”

Su Yutang's authoritative phoenix eyes widened in disbelief. As she listened to this woman's thunderous proclamations, she actually stumbled back a step as if frightened.

Never in her life had anyone dared say such things to her face.

Who was this woman who looked both foolish and mad? How dare she speak to her like this?

Although Su Yutang had actually been forced back a step by Lin Meng, Lin Meng seemed to have entered some kind of immersion mode and kept chattering on and on. “That awful mouth of yours—everything that comes out of it is nasty. You know better than anyone what you're really thinking deep down. Eighty percent of your crematorium is thanks to that foul mouth of yours. Look at you—if not for your family background and that pretty face, what omega would ever take a liking to someone like you? Only your wife is kind enough to fish you out of the trash. Scumbag gong... you need to reform yourself properly...”

After Lin Meng finished pouring all this out, it was as if she'd burned out completely. Her vision went black, and she collapsed straight onto Su Yutang.
