Chapter 45: Rose
Chapter 45: Rose
“Has Sister done this with anyone else?”
Fu Chaoying’s tone was calm, but there was a hint of grievance in it.
Amusement flickered through Ye Jiayuan’s eyes. Then she shook her head decisively. “No one else.”
The words had barely left her mouth before Fu Chaoying bit her lightly again and asked the question that had been on her mind all along. “But Sister looks... very experienced.”
Even with their first kiss, her teasing, and their first real intimacy, Ye Jiayuan had never seemed like an innocent novice.
Ye Jiayuan let out a helpless laugh. Something complicated flashed through her eyes, then she lifted a hand to gently smooth Fu Chaoying’s hair. “I only have you.”
There was no trace of perfunctoriness or deception in Ye Jiayuan’s voice. It was calm, certain, and serious. Fu Chaoying pressed her lips together and buried her face against her chest, taking a deep breath.
Ye Jiayuan softly stroked the back of her neck. “Were you just asking that to praise me?”
Her usually cool voice had gone a little hoarse, almost sultry.
Fu Chaoying didn’t answer. After a long while, she gave a small nod, then shook her head. “Sister is bad.”
Ye Jiayuan was pinned beneath her completely and could only laugh in exasperation. “In this position... you still say I’m bad.”
Fu Chaoying pursed her lips and gave a soft huff, bracing herself on her hands as she got up. The moment she landed on the floor, though, Ye Jiayuan pulled her back down.
Fu Chaoying could only just prop herself above her; then, before she could react, their eyes met and Ye Jiayuan drew her into an embrace.
Her cheek rested over Ye Jiayuan’s heart, and Fu Chaoying could hear its strong, steady beat.
Her own heartbeat quickened before she even realized it; her ear happened to brush against a taut peak, and her face grew uncomfortably warm.
“Hold me for two more minutes.”
There was tenderness and longing in Ye Jiayuan’s tone, wrapping around Fu Chaoying’s heart like a spring breeze. She could only ask in a muffled voice, “Didn’t Sister just say we were almost out of time?”
Her voice carried a hint of grievance and coaxing.
Ye Jiayuan gave a low laugh. Fu Chaoying lifted her eyes to look at her, only to fall straight into those deep, smiling eyes.
“It’s too late to do it once..."
“Oh.” Fu Chaoying’s lips curved slightly; she nestled obediently in her arms.
After estimating the time, Fu Chaoying got up and sat nearby, watching her get dressed without blinking.
She watched so intently that every movement Ye Jiayuan made seemed elegant, yet somehow faintly seductive.
The moment Ye Jiayuan turned around, Fu Chaoying averted her gaze a little awkwardly, only for Ye Jiayuan to take her hand. “Let’s go downstairs for breakfast.”
Fu Chaoying went downstairs beside her and saw Liu Xin just taking a seat on the sofa in the living room.
“Good morning, Ms. Ye. Good morning, Miss Chaoying.”
Fu Chaoying smiled at Liu Xin, guessing that she had probably already realized the two of them were not on ordinary terms; as Ye Jiayuan’s capable assistant, she naturally wouldn’t say anything careless outside.
Fu Chaoying had no time to pull her hand back and simply let Ye Jiayuan keep holding it.
Fu Chaoying and Ye Jiayuan sat down at the dining table. She looked back at Liu Xin and asked, “Has Assistant Liu eaten breakfast yet?”
Liu Xin smiled at her. “I have. Please take your time.”
In her heart, she gave Fu Chaoying a few more points, then let out a barely perceptible sigh.
After breakfast, Fu Chaoying saw Ye Jiayuan and Liu Xin off at the door.
Noticing Ye Jiayuan lingering by the entryway, Liu Xin sensibly detoured first toward the elevator.
Fu Chaoying waved at Ye Jiayuan, then couldn’t help yawning. “I’m going to take a little morning nap.”
The words had barely left her mouth before Ye Jiayuan took her hand. Fu Chaoying was pulled into her arms without warning, then felt a kiss press to the corner of her lips.
“Miss me,” Ye Jiayuan said, pressing her forehead lightly against hers. “Mm?”
Fu Chaoying gave a soft huff. “I won’t.”
Ye Jiayuan looked at her lively expression, the smile in her eyes deepening. Her throat moved; then she bent to whisper in Fu Chaoying’s ear, “But I’ll miss my little darling...”
Fu Chaoying’s heart trembled. Blinking, she held Ye Jiayuan’s face and gave her lips a gentle lick. “Then Sister should come back early.”
Ye Jiayuan gave a soft hum and forced herself to let go.
Fu Chaoying closed the door lightly, then unconsciously stroked her own lips. Barely ten seconds after leaving home, she had already started missing her.
Fu Chaoying thought of that nightmare and shook her head.
She hadn’t slept well last night. Fu Chaoying went upstairs for a nap, but without thinking, she pulled Ye Jiayuan’s pillow into her arms. When she came to her senses, she threw it out in a huff.
Not even two seconds later, she pulled it back in again and hugged it tightly. Fu Chaoying sighed, then couldn’t help laughing helplessly.
The pillow carried her scent; faint, but very pleasant. Fu Chaoying fell asleep peacefully with that smell in her nose.
At last, she didn’t have any more nightmares.
When she woke at eleven, Fu Chaoying headed to the hotel.
Today she drove Ye Jiayuan’s car, went up to the hotel room to collect her luggage, then picked up her colleagues.
The assistant and legal staff were all smiling, with nosy curiosity practically written on their faces, but no one dared ask.
The two of them tacitly did not mention Fu Chaoying’s check-out, nor did they say a word about the car that had appeared out of nowhere.
Fu Chaoying smiled. “An older sister of mine is semi-settled in Gangcheng and very warmly invited me to stay at her place.”
Fu Chaoying thought that last night, Ye Jiayuan had indeed invited her very warmly...?
The assistant and legal staff all chimed in, “That’s so nice, so nice.”
Fu Chaoying smiled and shook her head, asking where they had gone to play yesterday.
It was only when they reached the restaurant parking lot that Fu Chaoying had time to look at her phone and realized that Ye Jiayuan had asked half an hour earlier whether she wanted to have lunch together.
Fu Chaoying tapped the screen with her fingertip: [I’m treating my colleagues to lunch at noon.]
The message had only just been sent when a voice call window popped up.
The assistant and legal staff got out of the car on cue. Fu Chaoying tapped to answer——
“Doesn’t Sister need to have a group lunch at the venue?”
“I want to be with you.”
Fu Chaoying sent her the address and hung up, then got out of the car and told her two colleagues, “That older sister of mine wants to come have lunch with us too. Just make yourselves at home later.”
Assistant Li Bingzhe nodded repeatedly. “Being able to have a meal with Ms. Ye is our honor.”
Fu Chaoying smiled. “She was the one who recommended this restaurant too.”
She brought them into the private room, ordered the dishes, and looked out at the sea view by the window while occasionally checking her phone to see whether Ye Jiayuan had messaged.
The few of them chatted on and off until Ye Jiayuan finally arrived.
The instant the private room door was pushed open, Fu Chaoying met her eyes without warning.
“Good afternoon, Ms. Ye!” the assistant and legal staff said in unison.
Ye Jiayuan nodded slightly at them, then fixed her gaze on Fu Chaoying.
Fu Chaoying smiled faintly and waved her over. “Jiayuan-jie, sit here.”
Ye Jiayuan sat beside her, and the room instantly fell quiet.
Fu Chaoying asked softly, “Are you still going over there this afternoon?”
Ye Jiayuan gave a slight nod. “After lunch.”
Fu Chaoying rested her right hand on the table and looked at her, then turned to the assistant and legal staff. “I didn’t get the chance last night, so let me introduce her now. This is Ye Jiayuan, president of Xingye International.”
She then introduced the assistant and legal staff one by one.
Assistant Li Bingzhe smiled. “We’ve long heard of Senior Sister Ye’s name; we all know you.”
The legal staff nodded repeatedly. “Senior Sister is a legend at our Nanda, after all.”
A little pride rose in Fu Chaoying’s heart, and she looked at Ye Jiayuan with curved brows and eyes.
Li Bingzhe’s sense of social responsibility was overflowing, and she began enthusiastically recounting the legends about Ye Jiayuan at Nanda.
Ye Jiayuan nodded, occasionally stepping in to clarify a few rumors.
Fu Chaoying laughed softly. “Yes, I’ve heard that the line of students chasing after Senior Sister Ye stretched from the east gate to the west gate and still wasn’t enough; it had to go around the school three times.”
The others burst out laughing. Ye Jiayuan looked helplessly at Fu Chaoying, then listened with a smile as she spread rumors.
After that, she said coolly, “I’ve also heard that half the students at Nanda are Miss Fu’s fans.”
Fu Chaoying blinked. “No way.”
“There really were. Back when they voted for the ‘Nanda Star,’ it seemed Teacher Fu really did get half the votes.” Li Bingzhe still remembered it vividly from her school days.
Fu Chaoying smiled and looked at Ye Jiayuan without explaining.
In fact, that election allowed multiple votes; Fu Chaoying’s college roommates had a huge social circle and helped her canvass everywhere, so she won the title of “Nanda Star” with the most votes.
Li Bingzhe was Fu Chaoying’s junior by two years, and as she told stories from Fu Chaoyang’s university days, she was animated and expressive.
She said that for a period of time, someone came downstairs every morning to bring her flowers, and someone else sang a confession to her downstairs...
Fu Chaoying’s lips curved, but Ye Jiayuan quietly took her hand.
Feeling Ye Jiayuan gently rubbing the web between her thumb and forefinger, Fu Chaoying turned her head to look at her, only to find her expression perfectly calm.
On the surface, she looked so detached... who knew what she was thinking inside.
Fu Chaoying turned back and continued chatting with Li Bingzhe and the others about Nanda and the restaurants on Back Street.
What should have been a meal became an Nanda alumni gathering.
The assistant and legal staff still had schedules for the afternoon, and Fu Chaoying said goodbye to them again.
By the time they reached the parking lot, Ye Jiayuan had pulled Fu Chaoyang into the car.
“I can drive too,” Fu Chaoying said a little hesitantly, only to hear Ye Jiayuan reply, “Let the driver take it back.”
Fu Chaoying handed her the key; she in turn handed it to the driver.
The driver took the key and got out, and Liu Xin came to drive their car.
Fu Chaoying sat in the back with her, only to suddenly catch a whiff of rose fragrance.
“Did Sister buy flowers?”
Ye Jiayuan nodded slightly and immediately raised the partition.
Fu Chaoying’s heartbeat suddenly sped up. In an instant, she was pulled into Ye Jiayuan’s lap.
Ye Jiayuan lowered her head and breathed against her neck. “Mm; not as fragrant as you.”
Warm, damp air brushed over her neck. Fu Chaoying shivered, but then Ye Jiayuan parted her collar and kissed her collarbone.
Fu Chaoying thought of something and, drawing in a breath, said, “My suitcase is in that car.”
“I’ll get it later.”
The metal clasp snapped open. Fu Chaoying looked at her with feigned puzzlement. “Doesn’t Sister still have to go back for a meeting later?”
Her ending tone trembled slightly.
“I’m not going.” Ye Jiayuan’s breathing grew increasingly ragged.
A hint of a smile flashed through Fu Chaoying’s brows and eyes as she thought of the conversation at the table.
Some people looked perfectly detached on the surface; in reality... they even got jealous over something long since old.
Fu Chaoying’s brows and eyes curved; then Ye Jiayuan bit down on her heavily. She couldn’t help gasping, “Sister..."
Clinging to Ye Jiayuan’s shoulder, Fu Chaoying pretended to be reserved. “It’s still daytime..."
Ye Jiayuan gave her a light bite, then let go and fastened her up again with trembling fingers.
Feeling her fingers brush the peak by accident, Fu Chaoying shivered again and couldn’t help letting out a soft moan.
Ye Jiayuan’s movements paused for a moment, but then she quickly helped Fu Chaoyang tidy her clothes.
Everything looked as it had before. Fu Chaoying nestled in her arms, catching her breath, but her mind drifted to something in her suitcase, and the corners of her lips inevitably lifted.
When they reached the underground garage, Ye Jiayuan took a bouquet of roses from the trunk and handed it to her personally.
Fu Chaoying took it, then subconsciously glanced at Liu Xin; to her surprise, Liu Xin wasn’t looking this way at all, and she couldn’t help admiring her professionalism.
Ye Jiayuan took Fu Chaoying’s suitcase out of another car, pushing it with one hand while holding hers with the other.
Fu Chaoying stole a glance at her, only to see her face utterly composed.
It was as if the breathless woman from the back seat just now had been someone else entirely.
Fu Chaoying was far too familiar with that contrast, and her lips curved with genuine amusement.
When they got home, Fu Chaoying set the flowers on the console by the entryway, bent her head to change shoes, and was abruptly picked up around the waist.
She poked Ye Jiayuan’s shoulder. “My flowers.”
Ye Jiayuan didn’t move; she carried her in a circle, signaling for her to take them along.
Fu Chaoying reached out, lifted the bouquet, and hugged it to her chest, peeking at Ye Jiayuan from among the layered roses.
Ye Jiayuan carried her to the sofa in the living room, then stood up. “I’m going to get water.”
Fu Chaoying blinked at her back. She had thought being picked up like that meant Ye Jiayuan was going to do something.
She took the water from Ye Jiayuan and drank half a glass, only to see her take out her laptop.
“Still working overtime?”
Ye Jiayuan sat down beside her. “Mm; there’s some work to handle.”
“Oh, then I’m going upstairs for a nap.”
The words had barely left her mouth before Fu Chaoying stood up, only for her wrist to be caught.
Fu Chaoying lowered her gaze at her, puzzled. “Sister?”
“Keep me company.”
This was the first time Fu Chaoying had heard her make such a request. Her lips lifted unconsciously; she picked up the laptop, sat down on her lap, and raised a hand to gently circle the back of her neck before slowly leaning toward the tip of her nose.
Ye Jiayuan’s breathing hitched. Looking at the pink lips so close they were almost touching, she heard them part: “What reward do I get for keeping Sister company..."
Before she could finish, Fu Chaoying felt her breathing, saw her throat move, and then felt a pair of hands on her waist.
Ye Jiayuan suddenly leaned closer. “What reward do you want?”
Fu Chaoying dodged backward, then got up from her lap. “I need to think about it.”
Ye Jiayuan’s palm and lap were instantly empty; her gaze followed Fu Chaoying’s retreating figure, then she heard her say, “I’m going to get a book to read.”
Ye Jiayuan’s eyes dimmed a little, and her throat rolled subtly.
Fu Chaoying went upstairs. Thinking of the look in Ye Jiayuan’s eyes just now, as if she had expected something and been let down, she couldn’t help smiling.
After taking her book downstairs, Fu Chaoying saw Ye Jiayuan making tea on the coffee table. The snacks she hadn’t finished were also laid out beside it.
She sat down next to Ye Jiayuan, looped her arms around her waist, and leaned quietly against her shoulder.
After brewing the tea, Ye Jiayuan really did start working.
It seemed to be raining lightly outside again. Fu Chaoying sat beside her and read.
As she read, sleepiness crept in. Fu Chaoying leaned to one side of the sofa and quietly closed her eyes, only to suddenly feel a thin blanket being draped over her.
Her mind cleared a little. Fu Chaoying opened her eyes and saw that Ye Jiayuan had gone back to working with complete focus.
Fu Chaoying’s lips curved, and she closed her eyes again.
When she woke next, the first thing Fu Chaoying saw was Ye Jiayuan’s absorbed expression as she stared at the computer.
Still working overtime...
Fu Chaoying pressed her lips together, a sly glint flashing through her eyes. Slowly sitting up, she hugged Ye Jiayuan from behind and deliberately softened her voice into a spoiled whine. “Sister..."
Ye Jiayuan turned to look at her. “What is it?”
Fu Chaoying tugged at the hem of her top, slipping her hand inside to grope quietly. But before long, Ye Jiayuan caught her hand.
Fu Chaoying exhaled softly by her ear, pretending to be wronged. “Sister only has work in her heart..."
Ye Jiayuan set the laptop on the coffee table and lifted a hand to gently stroke her shoulder. “No.”
Fu Chaoying turned her head to kiss her neck, rubbing lightly against her from behind, but she herself couldn’t help trembling a little.
Ye Jiayuan’s eyes deepened; she turned and pulled Fu Chaoying to the front.
Their bodies pressed together. Fu Chaoying rubbed against her again and hooked a finger around hers. “Sister is not allowed to work anymore..."
Ye Jiayuan’s breathing grew more and more ragged from her teasing. Pressing against her ear, she asked, “Then what should we do?”
Ye Jiayuan’s hand softly kneaded her waist, making her tremble; Fu Chaoying arched her back and said indistinctly, “Do... me..."
Fu Chaoying’s face heated up, but then she felt something pressed to her ear, followed by an unfamiliar female voice.
Fu Chaoying froze all over, only to hear Ye Jiayuan laugh helplessly. “I’m in a meeting.”
?
Fu Chaoying sprang out of her arms as if shocked by electricity, only to hear her add, “The mic wasn’t on.”
Fu Chaoying finally let out a breath of relief. Then she tried to climb down from her lap, but Ye Jiayuan pressed a hand to her waist, and the world turned upside down.
“Little darling starts and then wants to run..."
With Ye Jiayuan’s low warning, Fu Chaoying was already pinned against the sofa.
Unknown voices kept coming through the earphones; she was held down on the sofa and kissed hard by Ye Jiayuan.
An unfamiliar sense of forbiddenness swept over her. Fu Chaoying couldn’t help trembling, lightly pushing Ye Jiayuan’s shoulder. “Sister... do you want to finish the meeting first..."
Ye Jiayuan shook her head against the bridge of her nose. “I don’t want to meet. I only want... you.”
Hearing her breathing grow ever more urgent, Fu Chaoying’s heart shook violently, and sounds kept slipping from her throat. “Mm..."
Someone in the earphones said, “Ms. Ye, the report has already been finished. Do you have any other questions?”
“Sister... someone’s calling you...” Fu Chaoying was then bitten hard enough to send a wave of tingling all the way to her heart, and she couldn’t help gasping into a soft moan.
“Ms. Ye?” The voice in the earphones came again.
Ye Jiayuan rubbed her gently with her teeth, then sucked again. Fu Chaoying bit her lip and held back as hard as she could from making a sound, only to hear Ye Jiayuan say, “Little darling is so good. Shh.”
Ye Jiayuan made a shushing gesture, pulled Fu Chaoying into her lap, and then turned on the microphone.
Listening to her comment in a perfectly normal tone, Fu Chaoying unconsciously held her breath, only to be gently pinched.
Fu Chaoying jolted hard; her back rubbed against Ye Jiayuan’s softness. A very strange feeling began to grow in her chest.
Anticipation had been stirred up, only to be suddenly left hanging.
A burst of rustling followed. Fu Chaoying sat facing Ye Jiayuan, arms around her waist, rubbing lightly against her lap. She kept biting her lip to suppress her voice; the movement of her waist never stopped.
Sensing her movements, Ye Jiayuan lowered her eyes and could no longer suppress her increasingly ragged breathing, so she hurriedly said, “That’s all; meeting adjourned.”
The moment she muted herself, Fu Chaoying couldn’t help but let out, “Sis... ter...”
Hearing her soft, lilting tone, Ye Jiayuan lowered her head and held her waist, unable to resist helping her with the motion.
After a long while, Fu Chaoying, still trembling, curled into her arms.
Feeling the dampness on her suit pants, Ye Jiayuan lowered her lips to her ear and asked in a low voice, “Little darling... was that comfortable?”
Fu Chaoying couldn’t help moaning, but she still didn’t answer.
Ye Jiayuan turned her face toward her and saw the faint red at the corners of her eyes before kissing her lips.
Fu Chaoying responded involuntarily to the kiss, only to be scooped up and carried upstairs.
Ye Jiayuan brought her into the bathroom, then heard her say in a low voice, “My suit pants may be a little dirty.”
Even though using the showerhead would have been the most convenient, Ye Jiayuan insisted on taking her into the bathtub.
Fu Chaoying whimpered in her arms. “Sister’s real motive isn’t the wine, is it?”
“Mm.” Ye Jiayuan admitted it openly, then held her close.
Fu Chaoying’s back was pressed against her softness; Ye Jiayuan kissed her neck, stirring the itchiness in her body again.
As water splashed, Fu Chaoying whimpered in her arms, only to hear her ask, “Little darling, which kind do you like?”
Fu Chaoying bit her lip but still couldn’t help letting out a cry.
She didn’t answer the question, but Ye Jiayuan already had her answer. “This kind, right?”
Fu Chaoying hummed softly, only to see her stop.
“Little darling, try doing it yourself..."
Fu Chaoying blinked. Realizing what she meant, she called out to her with a tearful voice. “No, Sister, you do it..."
Ye Jiayuan kissed her earlobe, pretending not to understand. “Mm? You don’t want me to do it?”
Fu Chaoying twisted her waist slightly and pleaded hoarsely, “Sister, do it for me..."
Amusement flashed across Ye Jiayuan’s features as she quickened her pace. “Then, little darling..."
Understanding what she meant, Fu Chaoying stopped holding back; then she was suddenly lifted up.
She blinked in surprise, then was carried to the bed and kissed again without warning. Water sounds rose in the room; Fu Chaoying felt as though fireworks had exploded in her mind.
“So much.” Ye Jiayuan commented hoarsely.
Fu Chaoying’s face grew hotter and hotter, but Ye Jiayuan leaned in and kissed her again.
Tongues twined together, and Fu Chaoying tasted her own flavor.
“Sister likes this taste?” Fu Chaoying asked, drawing in a breath.
Ye Jiayuan gave a soft hum. “Very sweet.”
“Where is it sweet?” Fu Chaoying couldn’t taste any sweetness at all.
“You’re sweet.” Ye Jiayuan kissed her back in reassurance.
Before she knew it, daylight had already dimmed. Fu Chaoying lightly pushed her shoulder. “I’m hungry.”
Ye Jiayuan kissed her neck again. “I’ll have someone bring dinner.”
Seeing her stand up, Fu Chaoying immediately grabbed her wrist, her voice very soft. “My clothes are downstairs...”
They had been scattered on the sofa just now.
Ye Jiayuan paused, then turned to look at her. “I’ll go down and collect them.”
Fu Chaoying looked at her smooth, pale back and swallowed.
After Ye Jiayuan went downstairs to get dressed, Fu Chaoying got up to open her suitcase, took out the small toy inside, and with a glint of mischief in her eyes, hid it in the bedside drawer.
Wrapped in a bath towel, she went into the walk-in closet, found something to wear at random, and then went out to the balcony to watch the sunset.
At this moment, dusk hung on the horizon; sunlight spilled over the sea, glittering in ripples. The scene was too beautiful. Fu Chaoying’s lips curved deeply, and she couldn’t help taking a photo with her phone.
Then she turned to go downstairs, only to hear Ye Jiayuan’s voice at the stairway corner——
“Mm, you handle it.”
“Don’t let her appear in front of Xiaoying.”
