Developing Superpowers in Another World

Each Showing Their Skills

Meanwhile, Xie Xu's team held down the rear carriages, drawing the aberrants toward their side to ease the pressure on Tu Ran's squad.

The burly man took point, and with a few swings of his blade, he effortlessly hacked apart the seven or eight aberrants blocking the sixth carriage.

Since the doors between the fourth, fifth, and sixth carriages had all been left open, his commotion quickly attracted the aberrants wandering in the fifth and fourth carriages. Their stiff bodies oriented toward the sound, and they surged forward one after another.

Tu Ran, hiding behind the burly man, peeked out and shuddered at the bloody, horrifying scene.

From her angle, she was like a tasty drumstick placed in the center of a plate, with a pack of rabid dogs charging in to devour her.

The burly man let out a loud shout and swung his blade to meet them.

At the same time, everyone in the seventh carriage retreated to the eighth, leaving the seventh as a buffer zone, creating all sorts of noise to draw the attention of the starving aberrants.

And Xie Xu stood right in the middle of the seventh carriage.

A portion of the aberrants immediately had their attention seized, charging toward the seventh carriage.

Aberrants were mindless. Seeing their companions surge ahead, they followed without a second thought.

Now, the first step of their plan was essentially complete.

They had divided the aberrants in the train into three groups.

One group was handled by the people in the second carriage.

One group fell to Tu Ran's squad.

The last group was left to Xie Xu's team.

The pressure on Tu Ran's squad suddenly eased a great deal.

The burly man hacked wildly at the front, while the two men behind fired nonstop.

The aberrants couldn't even get close before losing their heads and collapsing to the floor.

As the front ones fell, the ones behind kept charging, piling corpses layer upon layer.

The entire carriage was thick with the nauseating stench of blood.

Tu Ran, stuck in the middle, had no room to use her skills.

All she could do was call out to the survivors.

According to the red dots on her communicator, most of the survivors in this carriage were hiding in the restrooms.

The restrooms were within the safe zone, so Tu Ran didn't have them come out.

Because given the situation outside, it would actually be more dangerous for these people to leave the restrooms.

Let it be a little smelly—they only needed to hold out for less than an hour before the train pulled into Mitner Square and rescue arrived.

The key concern was those who hadn't made it into the restrooms.

Some, for instance, were hiding under the seats, relying on the aberrants' blind spots.

But if an aberrant happened to be shoved down, they'd be in serious danger.

There were also a few clever ones with stronger bodies who had hoisted themselves onto the overhead handrails, also exploiting the aberrants' blind spots.

Still, human strength had its limits; they couldn't keep that up for long.

Tu Ran gathered them up and protected them into the restrooms.

The other four covered her as she did this.

Once the survivors in these three carriages were all safely stashed, the five of them fell back to the sixth carriage.

A swarm of aberrants immediately followed them into the sixth carriage.

Their primary objective wasn't to wipe out these aberrants, but to get to the third carriage as fast as possible.

So after luring all the aberrants from the fourth, fifth, and sixth carriages into the sixth, the five of them each showed their own skills.

Some vaulted over the narrow seats, some swung across the carriage ceiling, others leapt off the heads and shoulders of the aberrants.

The five of them flashed into the fifth carriage in record time.
