Developing Superpowers in Another World

I'll Come Back to You All Next Time

Xie Xu's expression cleared instantly.

"Continue," he said.

For the next half hour, Tu Ran bore the brunt of his attacks.

"Not enough strength—you need to step up your physical training!"

"Your eyes are useless—why not just replace them with mechanical ones!"

"Watch your angle—you're overextending, easy to sneak up on from behind!"

"..."

"If you're not going to use those eyes, just donate them!" Xie Xu snapped again.

Tu Ran explained carefully, "My face is swollen. I can't see."

Xie Xu's punch froze mid-air.

Looking at her face, which had swollen nearly to the size of a pig's head, he withdrew his hand at once.

When had it gotten this swollen? He hadn't even noticed.

He sighed. "That's enough for today. You can head back."

"Oh, okay."

Tu Ran felt a wave of relief, as if she'd finally made it through.

"Goodbye, I'm off."

She quickly gathered her backpack, carefully covered her face with a mask, put on her glasses and hat, then scrambled up the stairs as if running for her life.

Watching her legs churn desperately, Xie Xu suddenly felt he could have trained her for another hour.

But Tu Ran had already vanished from sight, so he let it go.

Turning to the others below the ring, he said, "I still have some time today. Anyone want to spar with me?"

Silence. Dead silence.

Everyone lowered their heads, their earlier excitement at watching the show completely gone.

"No one?" Xie Xu's gaze swept across the room.

"Since there's no one... then line up one by one, and I'll give each of you a few pointers."

Today, Xiao Jiu was busy.

He had just finished treating the batch of people sent up earlier when he saw Tu Ran walk in.

Despite her sunglasses and mask, Xiao Jiu clearly noticed that her face was straining the mask outward, and she walked with a lopsided gait—her posture was odd.

"Need me to bandage you up?" Xiao Jiu asked politely.

Tu Ran glanced at the beds, all of which were full, and shook her head. "No need."

Her voice was a bit hoarse.

Xiao Jiu thought to himself that she was hurt pretty badly; Brother Xie really didn't hold back.

Tu Ran hurried away.

She could go to the Medical Department and soak in a nutrient pod, since she had a free one-year pass anyway.

The others lying on the beds, unable to move, were all veterans of frequent injuries and could easily tell that Tu Ran was seriously hurt—and they felt a surge of satisfaction.

The moment Tu Ran stepped out of the room, everyone burst into laughter.

"Brother Xie must have avenged us, hahaha! Revenge is sweet, revenge is sweet, hahaha!"

Just as they were laughing their heads off, who would have guessed—Tu Ran turned back.

The laughter came to an abrupt halt.

Tu Ran scanned their faces one by one and sneered, "I've memorized all your faces. Next time, you'll all be my practice partners again."

Everyone: "..."

Seeing the shock and terror on their faces, Tu Ran finally left, satisfied.

Xiao Jiu, standing nearby, muttered, "Heh. Serves you right for laughing at her, you bunch of rude bastards!"

A chorus of wails filled the room.

Just as Xiao Jiu thought he could finally rest, the door to the underground space opened.

Then, another batch of people with broken arms and legs was carried up.

Xiao Jiu's jaw nearly dropped. "What's going on this time?"

"Brother Xie gave each of us a few pointers," said a young man, phrasing it very delicately.

A one-sided beatdown, described as "giving pointers."

Xiao Jiu's head throbbed—his tiny clinic could no longer hold all of them.
