Crazy (but Gorgeous) Boss, Please Behave!

Chapter 62

A few seconds after the message was sent, before Jiang Chao could even blink, Sheng Huaixi’s reply came back.

-Yeah. Come to my office and report me.

She admitted it so brazenly, as if she were openly confessing to deliberately harassing her. Jiang Chao had wanted to make this woman understand that they were at work, with people everywhere; instead, she was telling her to come to the office and complain?

Go to Sheng Huaixi’s office to complain about Sheng Huaixi. Jiang Chao felt like only Sheng Huaixi could come up with such a “brilliant” solution.

This woman.......

Jiang Chao ran her tongue over the tip of a tooth, her index finger sliding back and forth over the screen as she hovered without typing. Her eyes flicked around rapidly; irritation crept up to her ears and turned them a burning red.

[During working hours, Director Sheng, please focus on your work and send fewer messages, okay?]

After hesitating for a few seconds, Jiang Chao had originally wanted to strongly emphasize that Sheng Huaixi shouldn’t send photos like the one from just now anymore. But after thinking it over carefully, she gave up.

Jiang Chao stared at the screen and thought darkly: if she specifically stressed that point, wouldn’t that make it seem like she was paying a lot of attention to the photos Sheng Huaixi sent...

Even though she really was paying a lot of attention to Sheng Huaixi’s figure.

Her pupils shifted as her fingers enlarged and shrank the image, but the subject of her gaze didn’t change for a long time. Jiang Chao clenched her teeth and lowered her eyes, looking at it very seriously.

There should have been an orange-toned lamp hanging by the pool. Mist and vapor filled the air and settled over Sheng Huaixi’s slender waist; her snow-white skin was washed in dim orange light, desire spilling out in full force.

From the angle of the photo, Jiang Chao could faintly make out the shallow dip at Sheng Huaixi’s lower back, and the protruding curve of bone at her side; if you put a hand there, it seemed like it would fit perfectly.

With a ding, Jiang Chao patted her increasingly warm face and, reluctantly, dragged her finger up to shrink the picture.

The photo minimized, and Sheng Huaixi’s reply appeared in the last line.

-Employees slacking off, gossiping, and looking at photos, then turning around and demanding that I focus on work; isn’t that a little inappropriate?

“?!” How did Sheng Huaixi know!

Her heartbeat instantly went haywire. Jiang Chao’s pupils shrank sharply; she covered her suddenly reddened ear with one hand, quickly turned off her screen, and peeked toward the office area in one smooth motion.

What she saw was that Sheng Huaixi’s office door was still tightly shut. It hadn’t opened when Jiang Chao had lowered her head.

If Sheng Huaixi hadn’t come out of her office, then how did she know?

Jiang Chao looked up and, almost subconsciously, scanned left and right. Everywhere she looked there were heads, except for.... Her gaze slowly came to rest on the surveillance camera above her, and her expression turned subtle.

Her fingers flew over the screen, and Jiang Chao directly sent Sheng Huaixi her speculation.

[You wouldn’t be secretly watching the surveillance from your office, would you.....]

Besides the camera conveniently installed right above her head, Jiang Chao couldn’t think of any other possibility for how Sheng Huaixi had known what she’d just done.

This time Sheng Huaixi’s reply came very quickly.

-Speaking maliciously about your superior; salary deducted.

The very next second after Jiang Chao finished reading that line, her work email popped up in the lower right corner at just the right moment. The sender was Sheng Huaixi.

After opening the email and skimming it in a few glances, Jiang Chao: “......”

She really wanted to ask Sheng Huaixi if she knew what work email was for, and whether it could be used like this.

She had just said she would deduct her salary, and then immediately sent a notice. At a glance, there was nothing wrong with it; it had been written completely in proper format.

Reading it carefully bit by bit, Jiang Chao nearly believed she really was about to have her salary docked.

Until she saw the signature at the end, boldly written as “Liar.”

A textbook Sheng Huaixi move; even when deceiving people, she did it openly and grandly, completely in character.

“Jiang Chao, what are you smiling about? Your face is so red.” Li Sensen’s teasing voice came from beside her, and she smiled as she raised her brows at her.

“Hmm?” Jiang Chao’s thoughts returned. She looked at Li Sensen and pointed at herself with her hand turned back, her expression puzzled. “Am I smiling?”

Li Sensen lowered her brows, pointed to the corner of Jiang Chao’s mouth, then mimicked Jiang Chao’s smile as she curved her own lips and emphasized, “You’re smiling pretty wildly; it’s like I’m the one seeing a beauty.”

Seeing a beauty?

Jiang Chao touched her cheek; the heat on her face was real enough to feel through her fingertips. Looking at Li Sensen nod, she had to admit that much.

Her phone buzzed again. Jiang Chao gave Li Sensen an apologetic smile and reached out to take it.

As expected, it was another message from Sheng Huaixi.

-You’re chatting with them and leaving me out in the cold. That’s too much.

Jiang Chao pressed her lips together; she wasn’t surprised at all by Sheng Huaixi’s complaint. It was just that how to reply was still something she needed to think through carefully.

“Chaochao.”

“Mm? What is it?”

That familiar way of addressing her sounded out. Jiang Chao didn’t turn around; she answered casually and lowered her head to type a message back to Sheng Huaixi.

[Don’t make wild accusations here and talk nonsense.......]

“You’re slapping such a huge label on me; that’s another offense.”

A pair of hands Jiang Chao knew all too well gathered around her from behind and came to rest in front of her; a low laugh brushed against her ear.

When had Sheng Huaixi gotten here?!

Jiang Chao jerked around, her forehead crashing into something soft. She didn’t have time to think any further and hurriedly raised a hand to cover the spot.

“I didn’t do it on purpose!”

Li Sensen sat off to the side, watching helplessly as Jiang Chao headfirst collided into Sheng Huaixi’s embrace, dumbfounded.
