Apologies, Our Commander Is a Hexagonal Warrior

Review

"This is Xu Lingqu."

In a small tavern on Desert Eagle Star, Instructor Zhang's classmate was staring at the final decapitation highlight clip of Xu Lingqu on the Sky Network. When the last shot switched to Guan Chuanjun's perspective, letting everyone experience being pierced through the forehead by Xu Lingqu's bullet, he was completely jolted awake.

"Old Zhang, this is the soldier you trained?" He scratched his head. "That's terrifying."

"Hey, I was just a supporting instructor. Don't set me up to fail, will you?" Instructor Zhang sighed, then added with a hint of pride, "The scariest part is that she's improved compared to before."

Previously, when he had flipped her and slammed her into a tree, her movements would still be distorted after getting up from the injury. Now, with a bullet in her leg, she decapitated Guan Chuanjun with flawless fluidity. If not for the close-up, most people watching the overall movement probably wouldn't notice she'd been shot.

"Guan Chuanjun deserved to lose."

When Xu Lingqu returned to the dorm, she saw a puddle of dog sprawled on the floor in her room and knew it had probably been indulging in the Sky Network again.

She stepped over the puddle, changed clothes, and washed up, preparing to do the match review for today's battle.

Liu Ming was still battling on the Sky Network. Although most of the people there were now allies, several new posts criticizing Xu Lingqu for her impolite interview had infuriated Liu Ming.

With over a dozen alt accounts, it launched a barrage of rebuttals. By the time it sensed Xu Lingqu's return, she had already finished washing up and was starting her review.

Liu Ming felt a bit embarrassed. Xu Lingqu looked down at it. "Has the S-class mech finally conquered the Sky Network forum?"

"Almost, almost." Liu Ming, thinking it was being praised, raised its head proudly.

Some people should learn from it—if they got angry less, they'd live longer.

"Almost? Sounds like the battle was pretty intense?" Xu Lingqu glanced at her smart device. Instructor Chen had already sent her today's matches between Moye and Shaji, and Cimei and Du'e.

"Not that intense, really. I was just angry. Why would anyone hate you!" Liu Ming thought of some people's faces and felt annoyed. Although Xu Lingqu could be scary sometimes, she was usually very kind.

"That's pretty normal." Xu Lingqu opened the replay of Moye versus Shaji first, deciding to review her final assault.

"How is that normal? It's not normal at all!" Liu Ming refused to accept it, rubbing its head against Xu Lingqu's leg. "People who hate you are abnormal!"

Xu Lingqu reached out and pressed down on the little dog's head. "No one in this world can be liked by everyone."

Being hated was actually a common thing for her. During her career as an apocalypse law enforcer, countless people had cursed her to hell and eternal damnation.

"Besides, doing what you believe is right, rather than what others like, is bound to attract hatred."

So what if she was hated? Being able to walk the path she believed was right without regret was enough for her.

Liu Ming still didn't understand.

But it vaguely sensed that Xu Lingqu seemed different when she said that—as if she was talking about today's match, and also about many other things, things Liu Ming didn't know about.

So it quieted down and began reviewing today's match with her, though in its heart it remained firm: Xu Lingqu was the most perfect person in the world, and everyone who hated her would wet the bed every night!"

"There's a problem here. You paused for a moment and that gave him the chance to hit you," Liu Ming, sharp-eyed, quickly pointed out the flaw.

Xu Lingqu watched that segment over a dozen times. "It was physical exhaustion from the early maneuvering and weaving. My movements were a bit distorted here, and fatigue slowed my reactions."

"You've actually done really well," Liu Ming muttered. "Only freaks like Galaxy can do everything without taking damage."

"Galaxy?" Xu Lingqu looked at it, clearly curious about what it had said.

"That guy started off at a normal level, actually? But he kept getting stronger and more monstrous over time." Liu Ming flopped its dog paws. "But I think you're smarter than him. Hmm, and your fighting stance is prettier too. You're much younger, so it's only a matter of time before you surpass him."

Liu Ming was comparing its two masters, and the scales tipped toward Xu Lingqu. Indeed, Xu Lingqu was perfect!

That mean old Galaxy often called it stupid and eventually abandoned it and left.

But Xu Lingqu wasn't really focused on that. Instead, she recalled the similar body data trends she and the Galaxy Admiral had seen at Doctor Li's office. The ultimate physical limit of this body was the peak of the Galaxy Admiral's prime.

Thinking of the Galaxy Admiral, her fellow who she'd never met, Xu Lingqu sank into contemplation. According to Liu Ming's account, Galaxy had trained this physique to its peak, even reaching "monstrous" levels in its eyes.

This physique had absolutely nothing to do with ordinary humans from Earth; rather, the more she heard, the more it sounded like an evolutionary human after the apocalypse... except the evolution was stretched out, requiring one to unlock it bit by bit.

But Xu Lingqu quickly dismissed this possibility, because she had transmigrated as a soul. She didn't carry an evolved body with her. The original owner of this body—that little girl who grew up alone in Zhuyun Frontier—was the true owner of this physique. It had little to do with Xu Lingqu from the apocalypse and could not be linked to evolutionary people.

Moreover, even among similar physiques, there were gaps. Galaxy hadn't started as a sickly child.

This puzzle could only be resolved after finding the person in the Federation who allegedly shared the same physique as the Galaxy Admiral.

The doorbell rang, interrupting Xu Lingqu's tangled thoughts. She waved for Liu Ming to open the door. It was Xu Xiqin and the others.

They had agreed to come back and review the Cimei versus Du'e match together.

Xu Xiqin, as usual, had a rough time with Liu Ming and went straight to Xu Lingqu. Liu Ming, as usual, expressed disdain for Shen Shouli and then Jin, only allowing Liu Zheng to pat its head.

Xu Lingqu nodded to them and immediately projected the three-dimensional replay of Cimei versus Du'e.

This time, Cimei and Du'e had drawn a map called "Space Route," which was divided into attackers and defenders. Cimei was responsible for escorting the star cruisers included in the map and completing the transport along the route safely, while Du'e's job was to destroy.

It was a three-hour match, and the final outcome depended on the progress of the operation. If a side was strong enough, they could wipe out the enemy entirely within the time limit and win.

There was no decapitation in these victory conditions, so although Cimei and Du'e actually fought quite spectacularly, the forum ultimately focused more on Shaji's sudden demise and Moye's windfall.

Jin looked up and spotted Jinfang Taibai on the screen. He pointed at him and said,

"If we run into Du'e, we need to find a way to take him out as soon as possible."
