Caught in the Act
The wall was cold, and Fu Liangxia shivered as her back met it. But the coolness on her lips was even sharper. Her eyes stayed open, fixed on the man's aquiline nose, refusing to look away.
She didn't pull back, nor did she respond.
Unsurprisingly, Fu Langshu was the same. Even as he kissed her with fierce, surging intent, Fu Liangxia sensed no trace of desire in him.
A faint scent of alcohol drifted from his collar and breath, wrapping around them.
Fu Langshu pressed his lips to hers, his deep eyes like the night sea, gazes locked on her, long lashes lowered as if he were beholding a cherished lover.
Of course, the main reason was that he had eyes that looked deeply at anyone, even a dog.
But did he really like her that much?
Fu Liangxia doubted it.
No one kisses someone they like so calmly, calmly enough to scrutinize her and ask, "Who are you thinking of now?"
More than affection, she believed what had driven Fu Langshu to kiss her was alcohol at play, a mischievous desire for someone who was mutually in love with his younger brother, and a bit of indefinable male instinct.
Competition and possessiveness had won out, perhaps with a little love, though not much.
So, he hadn't asked, "Are you thinking of him?" but rather, "Who are you thinking of now, me or him?"
Fu Liangxia curled her lips, and because of the subtle movement, she brushed against his lips, sending a tingling sensation through her.
She looked straight at him. The backs of her calves ached from keeping her toes lifted, the pressure of his fingers on her jaw was strong, but so were her words.
Fu Liangxia said, "Thinking of you."
The breath she felt on the tip of her nose quickened slightly.
She slowly finished her sentence: "Thinking that both of your hair colors are beautiful."
Fu Langshu was momentarily stunned, then opened his mouth and bit her as if venting frustration, with a smile in his eyes: "Both beautiful? You can't be too greedy."
Yet despite his words of denial, his heart was honest.
[Fu Langshu Affinity Points +3, current Affinity Points: 40.]
"Aren't you the same, CEO Fu?"
The man let go, straightened up, and distanced himself a bit, though under the overhead light, his shadow still completely enveloped her.
Fu Liangxia was not shaken by his words at all, and retorted sharply: "So desperate that you'd force a kiss on a girl in a bar."
Of course, there was no force in his action; it was more seduction and allure.
And she indeed hadn't dodged, half-resisting and half-accepting the kiss.
It couldn't even be called a kiss; it was merely lips touching, more like an invisible duel.
"Oh, desperate, that's how you see me."
He scanned her face from top to bottom. The girl's features were delicate, her lips glossy with a hint of moisture, looking exceptionally soft.
Fu Langshu curled his lips, and in an instant, his gaze turned dangerous: "You know, in a place like this, there are plenty who would go further than I have."
He flicked the packet of tobacco with his fingers.
Fu Liangxia squinted and smiled: "So is CEO Fu worried about me?"
Afraid she'd think this was a nice place, and wanted to warn her this way?
Fu Langshu smiled ambiguously: "No, it's just that I'm desperate."
After saying that, his gaze swept over the girl's head, and he noticed several boys in Saintland uniforms standing at the end of the corridor.
The one in front had red hair and held a black-and-white bass in his arms. The others behind him also carried instruments, as if they were students practicing here after class.
Fu Langshu initially glanced casually and was about to look away, but then he noticed the red-haired boy in the lead looked somewhat familiar, and he was staring straight in this direction.
It was the son of a family friend, Su Xingshu.
He raised an eyebrow slightly and nodded in greeting, but the other was as if possessed, not moving his gaze from this spot. A few seconds later, he suddenly strode over.
Fu Langshu was startled, realizing that the other's gaze wasn't on him but fixed on Fu Liangxia's back.
Some of the students behind recognized him and called out enthusiastically: "Brother Fu, what a coincidence! Running into you here!"
"Wow! I didn't expect to see Brother Fu at a bar! Are you here with friends..." One of them seemed to notice the girl trapped between the wall and the man, and his words cut off as he froze in place.
The few exchanged frantic glances, all astonished that the reputedly virtuous, work-dedicated head of Fu Corporation was secretly meeting a woman at a bar!
They even craned their necks to see who could have captured Fu Langshu's interest. But the moment they moved, their view was completely blocked.
The more he looked, the more familiar the girl's half-hidden back seemed. Su Xingshu had stared at it long while taking photos yesterday, and he felt sure he couldn't be mistaken.
He shifted his stance slightly, blocking the curious gazes of the people behind him: "Put your instruments down first."
That was a way to send them away.
The members of Su Xingshu's band were more like his backup band than teammates. Their looks, family backgrounds, and skill levels were far below his. They could only admire him.
Hearing his words, they didn't think much, only feeling that Su Xingshu was always thinking about the performance, reminding them to put away their instruments first.
They responded enthusiastically, also forgetting to find out who the girl with Fu Langshu was, only vaguely noticing that she was also wearing Saintland's uniform.
"Saintland has such a capable person?" One of them inadvertently voiced his doubt.
"Who knows, maybe she's a friend of Brother Fu's, who got to know Fu Langshu through him. But from that brief glimpse, that waist... damn, it's so slim."
"Get lost, you don't even look at whose person that is, and you dare to think about it. Aren't you afraid you'll be reported to big brother Fu and get a lesson?"
The previously infatuated boy immediately stopped blushing, his tone no longer flirtatious, and instantly cooled down.
Right, that was a big shot's woman, not someone they could covet.
Meanwhile, Fu Liedong, who was carrying clutter nearby, heard their conversation and felt a bit uncomfortable. He frowned and pondered: "Why does that back look so familiar to me?"
Wang Ziwei heard his muttering and teased him: "Isn't every pretty girl you see familiar?"
Fu Liedong: "...That's true."
The conversation here was just a brief interlude, but no one expected that someone actually dared to covet the "big shot's woman" they talked about.
Su Xingshu was at the bar today only to practice at his family's establishment. Passing through the lobby, he saw the flickering lights dancing across the glass, and in the front dance floor, the people dancing most enthusiastically were wearing Saintland uniforms. Among them, the one hugging the host's neck and laughing joyfully was none other than Xu Cai, the one who had offered to show Fu Liangxia the "adult world" after school.
So, this was her so-called adult world?
Su Xingshu's eyes darkened. He instinctively didn't want to imagine Fu Liangxia in a place like this.
Too incongruous.
But now, where was Fu Liangxia, the one Xu Cai had brought here?
A bar was indeed a den of all sorts. Thinking of her alone in such an environment, and her poor health, Su Xingshu's heart tightened.
He walked over, squeezing beside Xu Cai. The latter first smiled at him, clearly not recognizing who he was, and even tried to hug him.
Su Xingshu frowned in annoyance, adeptly sidestepping her touch. His eyelids lowered, and his voice seemed to restrain something.
He asked, "Where's Fu Liangxia?"
Xu Cai: "Who?"
At that, Su Xingshu frowned even deeper. The other was clearly drunk and couldn't communicate.
Just as a wordless anxiety welled up in his heart, a shadow fell beside him. Su Xingshu turned to see a man with half a mask and platinum-blond hair.
"Fu Haoyao?" The moment he spoke, he realized something was wrong.
The hair color looked very similar to Fu Haoyao's, but on closer inspection, it was clearly...
"If you're looking for a girl with black hair, I saw her near the restroom."
The other's gaze was without warmth, and his words interrupted Su Xingshu's thoughts.
Upon hearing where she was, Su Xingshu immediately set aside his curiosity about the other's identity. Anyway, if it was who he thought, they'd meet again soon.
After all, he wouldn't disappear in a short time.
And naturally, he missed the other's slow addition: "But going over now might not be convenient."
...Indeed, it wasn't convenient.
Su Xingshu found it hard to describe the emotion that surged in his heart the moment he saw the girl pinned against the wall, kissing.
The tall, upright man easily half-embraced the girl, bending to press his lips to hers. The girl was forced to tilt her head up, her waist arching into a graceful curve.
Yet he couldn't see any reluctance in her actions.
Su Xingshu's steps gradually stopped. The fire in his heart was suppressed, yet it seemed to burn a hole through his heart, aching unbearably.
He watched the two kissing, beautiful and affectionate, like a perfect couple being intimate without care, and even approaching would feel like an intrusion.
Su Xingshu suddenly felt his eyes sting, as if something had irritated them, reflexively wanting to tear up.
At first, his only thought was to turn and leave. He felt like a fool for worrying about her. Ridiculous, she was having a great time now!
Even making time to kiss a man.
He'd never even kissed anyone.
But gradually, whether from habit or desensitization, a self-destructive thought arose in Su Xingshu's heart.
After all, Fu Liangxia hadn't liked him that much in the first place. Maybe if he could figure out what kind of person she liked...
This thought grew like wild grass in his heart. Su Xingshu couldn't control it, nor did he want to.
But when he saw the man's face partially blocked by the girl's back, revealing only a striking platinum-blond hair, he froze.
Fu Haoyao?!
Su Xingshu couldn't describe how he felt at that moment. If forced to describe it, it was like coming back from a business trip to find his wife had hooked up with the neighbor, and that neighbor was his childhood best friend.
Just insane.
But when the man lifted his head, revealing a face full of impact, with a trace of the girl's lipstick on his lips.
Su Xingshu realized it wasn't the neighbor, but the neighbor's elder brother.
